Bethlehem, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s tennis team will begin the fall season at the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, MD, this weekend. The Mountain Hawks are entering a new era with a head coach this year Olivia Levitta,
This weekend’s tournament will feature three doubles flights and five singles flights. Leigh will be one of eight teams competing in Annapolis this weekend. Participants include Binghamton, George Mason, Johns Hopkins, Mary Washington, Monmouth, St. Bonaventure and the Navy.
At last year’s Invitational, the Mountain Hawks won one flying championship and three consolation bracket titles. Junior Anushka Daniya And Megha Daniya Earned three of Leigh’s four bracket wins last year.
Levitt said, “I think with three firsts and five returners at the start of this year, there’s a lot of new energy, but I think with those returning with a new coach, they’re about consistency and structure.” I’m excited.” “I think the team is really excited for a new chapter this year and is really starting to implement more consistency and more structure in drills and goal-setting.

Senior to lead the Mountain Hawks this season Junmok Gems, James posted six singles wins last year at the No. 2 spot and finished the season with five wins in doubles.
The Daniya twins will also return for Leh this season. The duo finished last year with a team-high eight singles wins and ten doubles wins.
Alice Gaboric And hamsa javagal The Mountain Hawks are entering their season of sophistication. Javagal, who was named a second-team All-Patriot League, recorded seven victories in singles games, including a 4–0 record at the No. 2 spot.
With the return of five Mountain Hawks this season, Levitt also welcomes three additions to the team. first years helena sylla, avery hopkey And bella peters All will make their Leh debut this fall.
“I think the first years honestly bring a ton of energy on the court,” Levitt said. “I think they are all very extroverted and want to be part of this team experience and so they bring in a lot of competitive energy but also positive culture energy which I think will usher in a new era for the team. Leigh will compete in three more invites before wrapping up the fall season with a home match. Following the Navy Invitational, the Mountain Hawks will host their annual Lehigh Invitational on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.
Lehigh will travel to West Point, NY for the Army Invitational from September 23 to September 25. To complete the tournament portion of the program, the Mountain Hawks will compete in the ITA Regional. Princeton will host ITA regional events from Friday, September 30 to Monday, October 3.
To end the autumn season, Leigh will host Monmouth on Saturday, October 15 at Ulrich Varsity Court. The match is scheduled to start at 12 noon.
