Donald Trump has admitted that he will be in the running for another term as US President in 2024. “Everybody wants me to run,” he said, claiming that he is leading the polls in popularity so far, whether in his party, Republican, or his opponent. “I’m leading in the polls, and in every poll — the Republican elections and the Democrat elections. I will make that decision in the very near future, I suspect. And I think a lot of people are going to be very happy.”

After serving a four-year term from 2016, Donald Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020 in a fierce battle. But the businessman-turned-TV celebrity-turned-politician is eyeing a comeback in 2024.

As part of an exclusive interview with NDTV, she was asked whether her being on the road with Indian-American businessman Shalabh Kumar – her longtime collaborator and campaign donor – is a sign of her 2024 run. About Shalabh Kumar, Mr. Trump said, “We have been friends since the last campaign and in 2016 and again in 2020.”

Then he also spoke about his equation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi: “I have had a very good relationship with India and Prime Minister Modi. We were … we have been friends. When asked what he meant by “a lot of people would be happy” if he ran for the election, Mr. Trump said: “I think so. There will be a lot of people, and some people will be unhappy.”

Shalabh Kumar, who lives next to Mr Trump, was asked if it is now clear that Mr Trump is a candidate. “Of course, he should run again. That’s our idea. And you know, if he runs again it’ll be great. I mean, our community, they’ll just love ‘Trump 47,'” he said. Said campaign pitch to make Mr. Trump the 47th President of the United States.

Asked if there were any other contenders within the Republican Party, Mr. Kumar said, “He is the Republican Party.”
