Hotels.com is looking to hire a retro beach moteler who will tour several retro beach motels across the United States and enjoy 1950s-style oceanfront views.
The moteler will be equipped with old-school accessories, including SPF zinc, striped umbrellas, vintage incense, coolers and even a solar-powered AM/FM radio to enjoy some tunes. The job will include offline activities, such as documenting a journey “for future generations” using a classic Polaroid camera.
Professional vacationers will be given a $10,000 stipend to cover travel expenses, and a salary of $5,000 to spend on classic beach snacks, such as saltwater taffy, frozen custard, and snow cones.
Melissa Dohmann of Hotels.com said, “Travelers these days look for all-inclusive hotels and resorts when planning a summer vacation, but our retro beach motelers are out to prove that beach motels can be just as luxurious. Huh.” “These timeless motels are not only budget-friendly, but will transport beach-goers—literally and figuratively—back in time to truly disconnect and relax.”
Those who don’t want to travel alone can bring a guest to join in the fun.
