Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the evacuation of the Donetsk region. Volodymyr Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the evacuation of Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, which has been hit by fierce conflicts between his country’s military and Russian forces.

The governor of Donetsk, where Moscow is bearing the brunt of its attack, said on Friday six civilians were killed and 15 wounded in the attacks.

“There is already a government decision regarding the mandatory evacuation from the Donetsk region,” the Ukrainian president said in his daily address. “Please, follow the evacuation. Terrorism is Russia’s main weapon at this stage of the war.”

Zelensky warned that there were still thousands of people, including children, on the battlefields of the Donetsk region.

“The decision to leave must be taken at some point. The more people who leave the Donetsk region now, the less people will kill the Russian army, ”he said.

He added that logistics and support operations were being handled “from A to Z” by the authorities.

“We will help you. We are not Russia. We will do everything possible to save the maximum number of human lives and maximize Russian terror.”
