Vermont Open Farm Week Celebrates 8 Years, August 7-14

Vermont Business Magazine For the eighth year in a row, Vermont farmers will once again open their barn doors and garden gates to welcome the public to view Vermont’s vibrant working landscape. Vermont Open Farm Week 2022 will be held from Sunday, August 7th to Sunday, August 14th, and more than 105 events will be held at more than 53 farms across the state. Events are live and sorted by day and location on DigInVT.com.

Open Farm Week is a celebration of Vermont farms that offers visitors backstage passes to learn local food origins, authentic farm tourism experiences, and a chance to build relationships with local farmers.

Visitors to the farm can look forward to maple and honey tastings, kids yoga on the farm, ice cream social, behind-the-scenes tours, dinner on the farm, 5k races, pie contests and more!

Each Open Farm Week event is created by a farmer and focuses on highlighting the unique character of the host farm.

“Open Farm Week is Vermont at its best. Visitors get an authentic experience while visiting and interacting with farmers and growers,” said Vermont Agriculture Secretary Anson Tebbets. “These tours highlight that our How food is produced and how farmers take care of their animals and land. We are grateful to these businesses that have opened up their daily lives to hundreds of visitors during Open Farm Week.”

Open Farm Week events are now live online! Many programs are free and some require pre-registration. Not all farms are open every day, so be sure to visit DigInVT.com to explore the diverse event schedule and plan a trip. Everyone is invited to join the Open Farm Week conversation on social media using the hashtag #VTOpenFarm.
