Varun Dhawan has wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film Bawal in Poland, the Bollywood star announced on Monday. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the romance drama also stars Janhvi Kapoor.
Dhawan, 35, shared the news of the shooting wrap in an Instagram post.
“Hum macha di hai har jag bawal! Film is being wrapped up in Ajju Bhaiya style! Next bawal will be in theaters on 7th April 2023,” the Jugjug Jio actor wrote in the caption of the video.
The story of Bawal is written by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, who has also penned the screenplay along with Piyush Gupta, Nikhil Mehrotra, Shreyas Jain and husband Nitesh Tiwari.
Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary posted a note on Instagram on Monday, saying that Bawal proved to be a “tough shoot” for the team.
“As we wrap up our beautiful story Bawal, we would like to thank all our partners who have shown so much love and unity in making this story our own and walking this path till the end. It was a very difficult shoot but when there are smiling faces it moves the director,” she said in the note.
Sajid Nadiadwala’s production banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in association with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari’s EarthSky Pictures has supported the project.

Billed as a romance drama, Bawal went on floors in April in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh and the team later traveled to Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Poland for principal photography.
The film is set to hit the screens on April 7, 2023.
