Premier League Betting: Back 6/1 Arsenal’s Ben White will be carded vs Crystal Palace – Jones Knows | football news

After a hugely successful 2021/22 season with +64 gains, our tipster Jones Knows’ best bets column is back and full of gold betting for the opening weekend.

1pt card vs Crystal Palace on Ben White (6/1 with Sky Bet – Bet Here!)

So, we go again. The slate is cleared and my desire to drop those bettors is faster than ever.

It makes perfect sense to take 6/1 seriously when Ben White takes a card on Friday night.

We see an excellent case of a positional change that has yet to be marketed, as White, usually a centre-back, at the heart of William Saliba with Gabriel’s involvement at full-back for Takehiro Tomiyasu ready for deputation. Arsenal Defense. So White is ready for a showdown with Wilfried Zaha, the card-drawing king down the channel.

No player scored more yellow cards than Zaha’s last season (14), while if you look at the data for the last five years, the Palace forward is responsible for winning 87 yellow cards for fouls against him – Next on that list is Richardson with 78.

1pt on Callum Wilson to score first for Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest (5/1 with Sky Bet – Bet Here!)

Those who’ve taken their eyes on my pre-post-season preview will know that I’m totally invested in Callum Wilson for this campaign for Newcastle. I am set to win the Golden Boot at 33/1 and make the England World Cup squad 6/1, so it will come as no surprise to read that I am playing to score this weekend.

Wilson has a history of scoring early goals in a campaign. In the last nine seasons when he has been fit enough to start a season (eight out of nine), Wilson has averaged five goals in the first eight match days of that season.

Overall this works out to an average goal of 0.6 per 90 minutes in the first eight match days of a season. This compares to a 0.3 average in games during the rest of the season. Their body seems to peak after the pre-season period.

Wilson is certainly speaking a good game too. He added: “This season, I feel strong, I feel fit, I feel strong. Now it’s up to me to prove those skeptics wrong. I move on from it.”

Everything points to him and Newcastle starting off with a bang. He’ll take my money at the first goalscorer market this weekend at 5/1 – the first of many, we hope.

1pt on Kyle Walker-Peters by two or more shots vs Tottenham (5/1 with Sky Bet – Bet Here!)

Finding value in ‘player prop’ markets such as shots is becoming more and more difficult this season, with the five substitution rule likely to affect play time for some players, with no change in prices.

This, combined with the price tightening already by speculators in those particular markets, will make it difficult for lovers of such bizarre betting opportunities. Nevertheless, there are still angles to exploit and Kyle Walker-Peters of Southampton is certainly the man to add to his shot prices. The steadily improving defender averaged 0.8 shots per 90 minutes last season as Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttle gave his full-back plenty of license to engage in attacks, sometimes in very central positions.

Switching to the back three this season could mean an even greater emphasis on the wider players setting the tone for the attacks, and Walker-Peters undoubtedly has the ability to make a difference in the final third. Southampton are not going to sit back in North London, so I am very happy to invest in Walker-Peters, against their former club, with Sky Bet at a tentative value of 5/1 to fire at least two shots on goal to do.

0.5 points on White for being the card, two or more shots from Wilson and Walker-Peters to score first (225/1 with Sky Bet – Bet Here!).

A dream that you dream alone is only a dream. A dream that you dream together is reality.
