South African pacer Kagiso Rabada says playing in IPL helps in gathering information about Indian cricketers, which can be easily sent for analysis while on national duty.
The South African pacer, who is currently in India for a white-ball series, has gained immense popularity in the country due to his impressive stints with Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in the IPL. βIt is something that we have prepared before going into the series. Lucky with a league like IPL, we play with and against these players a lot, so information can be easily disseminated,β Rabada told the broadcaster ahead of the first ODI. “The analysis has been done and has to be done,” he said.
The right-handed batsman, who led South Africa’s pace attack in the T20 World Cup in Australia later this month, sees ODIs as an extension of the shortest format of the game.
βI think T20 and one-day cricket are similar in a way, it is a longer version of it. “You have similar game plans and obviously it’s less pressure than T20, I would say the procedures are pretty much the same.”
