Metallica and Mariah Carey will headline Global Citizen’s New York Festival.

Iconic heavy metal band and ‘Hero’ hitmakers will join the Jonas Brothers, Rosalia, Menskin and Charlie Puth at the 10th edition of the annual fundraising concert to raise awareness of extreme poverty.

There will be a free concert of huge acts in Central Park on September 24.

In Accra, Ghana, meanwhile, Usher, SZA, HER, Stormzy and more will perform at Black Star Square for the cause.

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas will host the event.

Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans highlighted related statistics stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine that has forced millions into extreme poverty, with alarming numbers only set to rise by the end of the year. Global cost of life crisis.

“About 323 million people are now facing acute hunger. And if we don’t take immediate action now, 200 million more people are likely to fall into extreme poverty by November, bringing the total number of people living in extreme poverty to over a billion again.

Last year, the likes of Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran and Camila Cabello performed for Global Citizen.
