Louis Tomlinson curses One Direction’s debut album ‘Up All Night’

Singer Louis Tomlinson said on the Smallz’ Surgery podcast last week that he was not proud of One Direction’s debut album. As they reflected on 12 years later, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan were cast together on the British TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ and said the band’s first album was “S**t”. , Speaking on the podcast, Louis said he didn’t think his first LP, “Up All Night,” was any good.

The former boy band member spoke candidly and shared his thoughts about the quality of his work. “Twelve years ago the band was formed today, but the first album was s**t anyway,” he said.

The 30-year-old English singer-songwriter, who launched her debut solo album ‘Walls’ in 2020, is currently working on her second follow-up album. He said that he feels pressure to live up to the success of his former band.

“I’m still under pressure to deliver a good record … and I’m trying to get my feet off the big band as One Direction,” he said.

Up All Night, One Direction’s debut album, sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide since its 2011 release. The album became an instant blockbuster and spawned big singles including ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ and ‘One Thing’. The band released four more albums, the last of which was ‘Made in the AM’ in 2015, before splitting up to pursue a solo career.

Tomilson is not the only former member of the group to have criticized their music. In 2016, a year after Zayn Malik left the band, his record was dubbed “f**k as normal”. He previously said: “There was no room for me to experiment creatively in the band. If I would sing a hook or a verse a little R&B, or a little myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until Don’t have a direct version. Pop, as generic f**k, so they can use that version.
