A video has gone viral where new Chelsea signing Kalidou Koulibaly, who used to wear the #26 jersey at Napoli, has expressed his desire to wear the same jersey number for the Blues. No one has taken the number 26 jersey since Chelsea legend John Terry and the Senegal centre-back have asked Terry for permission to wear his shirt number at the English club.
Chelsea have signed the 31-year-old Senegal on a 4-year contract with the club for a £33m transfer fee. The defender has already appeared in the blues jersey in a 3-1 pre-season win over Italian side Udinese.
Koulibaly calls Terry to ask permission to wear his shirt number and the former England footballer’s answer is priceless.

Terry said, “26 was very special to me, I really appreciate you calling me. It’s not a problem for me to take it for you, Param Anand. I wish you all the best because I know the number for me.” How important was that and I see you wear 26 too. My happiness mate, I give you 26. No pressure mate. You have to keep winning trophies for us, okay?”
Fulham-based football club Chelsea will begin their Premier League 2022–23 campaign against Everton in an away game at Goodison Park on 6 August.
