Men’s College Basketball Recruitment is about to kick into high gear once again.

Starting Friday, the NCAA Division I men’s basketball recruiting calendar shifts from a quiet period to a recruiting period.

A quiet period is defined as “the period of time when only in-person recruiting contacts are permitted on the member institution’s campus. No in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts or assessments may be made.” .

A recruiting period is defined as “when authorized athletics department employees may conduct in-person, off-campus recruiting contacts and evaluations.”

what does this mean?

That means John Calipari, his assistant coach, and other men’s college basketball coaches around the country will begin visiting Friday for their priority recruits in upcoming recruiting classes.

The calendar will mostly be in the recruitment period from Friday to the end of March, with some shorter periods in early November and around Christmas in December.

A dead period is defined as “the period of time during which a member is allowed to conduct recruitment contacts or assessments in person on or off the Institute’s campus, or to allow official or informal visits by potential student-athletes to the Institute’s campus.” is not permitted.”
