Amy Grant released from hospital after bike accident | Entertainment News

Amy Grant has been discharged from the hospital after her bike accident.

The 61-year-old singer, who was briefly hospitalized after the incident in Nashville earlier this week, is now recovering at home, though she has postponed several shows scheduled for next month because She has recovered.

A post on the star’s Instagram account read: “Amy Grant was in an accident after hitting a pothole while riding a bicycle with a friend (note: she was wearing a helmet).

“After a brief hospitalization where she was treated for her injuries, doctors have ordered additional recovery time for Amy at home, where she is now resting comfortably.”

Delayed demonstrations in Tennessee, Chattanooga and Johnson City have been rescheduled for April and June 2023.

The statement added: “There are no other changes to their tour schedule at this time.”

Amy underwent open-heart surgery two years ago to correct the rare heart condition PAPVR (partial anomalous pulmonary venous return) — which she was born with but was only discovered after a medical examination — and confessed that women had to insert their own health on the “back burner”.

The ‘Baby Baby’ singer said: “I think women put their health on the backburner.

“It’s more like, ‘Oh my kids, my grandchildren, my job, my spouse.’ All those things and we need each other’s gifts. So even if you go, ‘Oh, I ain’t got nothing on the radar,’ just get someone else to check it out.”

Meanwhile, along with stars like Hollywood A-lister George Clooney and Irish rock band U2, Grant was announced as one of five recipients of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors.
