A fire broke out at an automobile repair shop near Aldine on Sunday, leaving the owner with third-degree burns trying to fight the blaze.

The Little York Fire Department arrived at Memory Lane and Sweetwater’s shop at about 1 a.m. Officials said the owner was trying to douse the flames, but he was found injured on the ground.

Firefighters pulled him out of the building and took him to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Lieutenant James Singleton of the Harris County Fire Marshal’s office said grease and flammable liquids attached to the vehicles were involved.
